Defining the brand position

Through our initial client kickoff meeting we ascertained Complex’s unique capabilities and distinction within the marketplace.

Design blueprint

For these initial meetings, we also establish the necessary guidelines our creatives need to adhere to that include colors, fonts and other design elements.

To manage client expectations, we submit a creative brief to Complex based on the strategy established in our kickoff meeting.

Full service branding

Complex being open to a bottom-up refresh allows our design team to explore various creative directions. We moved away from Complex’s muted colors to a bolder palette that helped the content pop, while not clashing with the imagery. We chose a sans-serif font to ensure a clean, consistent look for the content.

We wanted the voice to be authoritative, while being empathetic to the challenges which drive clients to use a service like Complex.

Evocative Imagery

We chose bold, outdoor images to connect to the client’s Colorado roots while linking to the ability to overcome any challenge. The linear urban outline overlaid on arresting outdoor imagery further communicates our theme. Placing the client within the scene adds personality to the brand.

Let the development begin

With the layout approved and content in place, we begin the development of the site with an in-depth Q&A as well as beta testing. To ensure a hassle-free launch, we walked the client through the site at various stages of development. No matter the site design, we make sure our layout and UI are built in a way that allows for seamless upgrades to be made in the future. A reason we develop ongoing relationships with most of our clients.
